Get answers to common questions about Relaxer - Touch-Up.

Most stylists recommend waiting eight to twelve weeks between touch-ups, depending on growth rate and hair condition. If roots show heavy new growth or hair feels fragile, schedule sooner. Consult our stylist for a personalized timing plan to protect hair health.

When applied professionally only to the new growth, a touch-up minimizes risk to previously relaxed lengths. Overprocessing or too-frequent applications can cause damage, so we assess condition and recommend spacing, strengthening treatments, and proper formulas.

A touch-up appointment typically takes between sixty and one hundred twenty minutes depending on hair length, thickness, and processing time. The service includes consultation, careful root application, processing, neutralizing, and finishing with styling as requested.

Coloring and relaxing on the same day can be done in some cases but carries increased risk. We usually recommend spacing chemical services or performing a strand test first. Your stylist will advise the safest sequence based on hair condition.

Use sulfate-free shampoo and hydrating conditioners, apply weekly deep-conditioning or protein treatments as advised, minimize heat styling for a few days, and use heat protectant when styling. Regular trims and scheduled maintenance keep hair healthy and smooth.

A strand test is recommended when hair is previously damaged, color-treated, or for first-time clients. It helps determine the right formula and processing time to reduce risk. We provide assessments and strand tests as part of our professional service.
